About

Emily Rath Orzabal

Emily has been photographing for over twenty years. She has been exhibited in various cities in Italy, and her photographs have been featured in the New York Times.

She attended the Liberal Arts program at Pepperdine University, graduating with a BA in Fine Arts in 2008. At the age of twenty two she moved to Italy, where she furthered her studies in the Italian language, painting, processing and printing in the darkroom, and archival processes, such as platinum palladium photography. Self-portraiture was an ongoing project which became a therapeutic way for her to release feelings and turn them into something tangible.

Emily graduated from culinary school at the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine, and the next year became a Certified Sommelier.

She has been a pet sitter and dog walker in Malibu, a barista in fine dining restaurants, cooked in professional kitchens, worked in wine shops and an award winning brewery, and has modelled for portraits and nude figure paintings at a classical school in Italy. By the time she was thirty, she had already lived in Colorado, California, Scotland, Italy, and England. In 2018 she completed her MA in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster in London. She continues to photograph in both film and digital, and is writing her first novel.

Emily and Roland Orzabal
were married in 2020 without guests due to covid. They wed at 11,200 feet atop a mountain in Aspen, Colorado.

In 2022, they celebrated their wedding at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire with friends and family.
